Welch Residence, Little Silver, New Jersey

Several unique challenges influenced our design of this new 7,800 square foot residence, completed in the spring of 2008. While the property is quite beautiful and generous in size, the orientation and footprint of the new home were dictated by restrictions of the zoning requirements of the community in which the home is located. Our client requested that the home have a traditional plan and that the exterior reflect the simplicity of many New England residences, where Mr. Welch was raised. The Welchs are ecstatic about the resultant siting and look of their new home. Rudolph Architects was also commissioned to perform the Interior Design Services for the new home. In addition to the selection of all finishes, materials and lighting, and the design of cabinetry, and trim work throughout, we designed the kitchen, bathrooms, wine cellar, library and home office furniture. Mrs. Welch inherited a significant collection of Korean and Chinese artwork and furniture which, when supplemented with new furniture and artwork, was incorporated into the finished design.
